Winner of the Ecotourism Award from the World Congress on Tourism and the Environment, La Selva lodge sits high on the lake of Garzacocha. The cabanas are of native design and are very comfortable and the food is the pride of the lodge. There are a number of possible excursions with an English guide, some more physically challenging than others. La Selva is home to many trails and a 135 foot observation tower and a large butterfly farm. The adventures are limitless. Deep in this Amazon jungle of unparalleled biodiversity you are lodging in a paradise where anything is possible.

Walk
by a natives house
Crossing the Garzacocha Lake we take a two and a half to three hour walk on a purposely underdeveloped trail which has some physical challenge. Half of the walk takes place in primary forest and the other half passes the huts of our indigenous neighbors along the Napo River.
Observation tower
Observe many birds flying by at eye-level not far from the lodge, wildlife of all kinds, and yes, a bird's-eye view of it all.
Ruths Trail
Look across the Mandicocha Lake, it goes on and on and on, a good place to look for Jaguars.
Night excursions
Consisting of canoe or walking trips after dark to view nocturnal animals such as caiman, monkeys, insects and owls. Sample the LA SELVA nightlife.
